Linger Awhile

While you are in Newfoundland, why not slow down? Make the Trinity Bight your window on the rest of Newfoundland.

We would be pleased to arrange three, five or seven days of activities for you in this area. The days can be organized in any way that suits you. Activities could include:

  • A two-hour walk to Fox Island, once the site of a civilian fort; an invigorating climb, traces of a former settlement, an assortment of flora, an expansive view of Trinity Bay and the coastline, a great spot from which to watch whales.
  • A visit to the historic community of Trinity; lunch, shopping, The Newfoundlande, Trinity Pageant in the afternoon.
  • A historical walking tour of the Village of Trinity. Kevin Toope, your guide, will recount tales of Trinity's past as you walk the winding lanes of one of North America's oldest communities.
  • An outdoor production of a Shakespeare play by Rising Tide Theatre; lively and original in Newfoundland dialect.
  • A full-day, 12 km guided, interpretive hike through the forest on a historic path to British Harbour, an abandoned community. A fifteen-minute boat-ride along the rugged coastline will bring you back to Old Bonaventure.
  • A Newfoundland time at Rocky's in Trinity with square dancing and fiddle-playing by Newfoundland's Kelly Russell.
  • An afternoon on Trinity Bay following the rugged coastline to see whales, eagles, ospreys, icebergs (in season).
  • An evening of theatre in Trinity at the Rising Tide Arts Centre, or perhaps in an outdoor location in the community..

There are many other activities including golf at Terra Nova Park, a visit to a Puffin colony in Maberly, a day in Bonavista, a scenic drive along the Bonavista Bay side of the peninsula as well as any number of walks from the door of Fishers' Loft. (See the Discovery Trail and the Trinity Bight website )

Call us and we'll arrange your itinerary, as busy or relaxed as you want it.
